The Foreign Employment Bureau (SLBFE) has uncovered a racket that swindles money from Sri Lankan job seekers by promising employment opportunities in Poland.

Fake employment agencies had published advertisements to lure local job seekers, according to reports.

Embassy of Sri Lanka in Poland has announced that one must possess a work permit in order to be employed in Poland, the Foreign Employment Bureau said further.

Accordingly, local job seekers are advised not to pay money to local employment agencies without a work permit in Poland.

They are further urged to contact the Bureau for further information on the matter.
