Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first against Sri Lanka in the final of the home T20I tri-series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Their lineup saw one adjustment, with Shaheen Afridi replacing Mohammad Wasim Jr. Sri Lanka, however, decided to stick with the same team that secured victory in their previous match.
The two sides have clashed 26 times in T20Is, with Pakistan holding the upper hand in the head-to-head record, boasting 15 wins to Sri Lanka’s 11.
In this tri-series, their last meeting occurred during the league stage, where Sri Lanka edged out Pakistan by just six runs in a close match.
Pakistan comes into the final riding on an impressive streak of five straight wins—three matches within this tri-series and two from their preceding home series success against South Africa.
Sri Lanka, on their path to the final, secured a significant win over Pakistan. They aim to carry forward this momentum, fueled by their recent performance, pushing them closer to lifting the trophy.
