Niluka qualifies for Olympics in 2016

Niluka Geethani Rajasekara of the Sri Lanka Army, representing Sri Lanka at the 15th Asian Marathon finished fifth creating a new national record.

Lance Corporal Rajasekara of the SL Army’s Women Corp (SLAWC) finished fifth beating hundreds of competitors in the women’s category with a time of 2 hours, 40 minutes and .7 seconds at the competition held in Hong Kong.

Breaking the standing Sri Lankan record for the fastest time Lance Corporal Rajasekara has topped the qualifying time to take part in the 2016 Olympics in in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
