Sri Lankan new skipper Upul Tharanga won the toss and chose to bowl in the second Twenty20 international against Australia. Perth Scorchers quick handed his maiden T20 cap while Adam Zampa is surprisingly dropped.
Young Perth Scorchers quick Jhye Richardson has been handed his international debut for Australia’s must-win KFC T20 INTL against Sri Lanka in Geelong. The 20-year-old, who has played just one first-class match, has replaced fellow quick Billy Stanlake in the side following Australia’s final-ball defeat at the MCG on Friday night.
Leg-spinner Adam Zampa has also been dropped despite impressing with 2-26 from four overs in the first match of the series. Adelaide Strikers batsman Ben Dunk has come in to the side and will bat at first drop behind openers Aaron Finch and Michael Klinger. A zippy right-armer, Richardson was named player of the match in Perth’s victory against the Sydney Sixers in the KFC Big Bash League final last month and has been rewarded with his first game for his country.
