India secured their spot in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 semi-finals with their win over the West Indies in the final Super 8 fixture.

The defending champions knocked out two-time winners to set up a mouth-watering knockouts clash against England, in a repeat of the 2024 semi-final. The two teams will square off in the second semi-final on March 5 in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

Meanwhile, South Africa will go up against New Zealand in the first semi-final on March 4 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The winners of the two contests will face off in the summit clash on March 8 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Both the West Indies and India required a win in Sunday’s fixture to progress through. Having been put in to bat first, the Windies put on an all-round batting display to post a total of 195.

In response, India chased down the total with four balls to spare and five wickets in hand.

Earlier in the day, South Africa had ensured that they progress through as the top-ranked side in Group 1, keeping their unbeaten run in the tournament intact.

England had finished atop the Group 2 standings, notching wins in all three of their games.

New Zealand had been confirmed as the third semi-finalist after the result of the Sri Lanka-Pakistan Super 8 match in Kandy.
