New Zealanders defeat Sri Lanka Tuskers in Kandy to retain Graham Henry Trophy

The visiting New Zealand Under 85kg Rugby team defeated Sri Lanka Tuskers 25 (3T, 2C, 2P) -10 (1 T, 1C, 1 P) in the second and final game of the two-match series at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium in Kandy this evening (03) to retain the Sir Graham Henry Trophy.

The game saw a total of five yellow cards for New Zealanders including two for Crenfeldt Smith and one for Sri Lanka’s Lahiru Thilakaratne.

At lemons, the Tuskers trailed 07-13 after the home team was awarded a penalty try.

In the second half, Sri Lanka managed to put over a solitary penalty through Thenuka Nanayakkara. New Zealanders despite their indiscipline scored two tries and put over a penalty to take the game away from the Tuskers.

In the opening fixture of the series, the New Zealand Under 85kg Rugby team beat Sri Lanka Tuskers 27-16.
