Western Warriors win Carlton Super 7s overall title

Western Warriors were crowned the overall champions of the Carlton Super 7s powered by Dialog eZ Cash while Northern Gladiators won the international leg of the tournament.
Winners from the first leg Western Warriors, led by Yoshitha Rajapaksa, took on the Northern Gladiators in the Carlton Super 7s second leg final.
Western Warrior Lote Rakabula kicked the game off from right to left. Northern Gladiators started the better team in the game and David Halaifonua scored the first try in the game as the Northern Gladiators took the early lead 5-0.
Western Warriors hit right back through Emori Waqavulagi to gain the lead for the Western Warriors 07-05 Northern Gladiators. Joseph Dunn Naeqe scored the 2nd try for the Western Warriors as they continued their come back and end the half with the lead. Western Warriors 12-05 Northern Gladiators.
Western Warriors, led by Namal Rajapaksa, defeated Southern Sharks in final of Carlton Super Sevens to win first leg in Sri Lanka.
Northern Gladiators booked their place in the grand final by beating the Central Kings by 26-19 points in the 2nd semi-final.
Ten teams of outstanding 7s rugby players inclusive of Lankan stars and international stars arrived in the capital city of Colombo to take part in the Carlton Super Sevens 2nd Leg which was held on 15th & 16th of August at the Race Course International Rugby Stadium.
