Mahindananda Aluthgamage arrested by CID

Former sports minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage has been arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). 

The UPFA Kandy District MP was taken into custody after he arrived at the CID to give a statement this morning (15). 

Police said that Aluthgamage was arrested on charges under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act after a statement was recorded from him. 

He is to be produced at the Colombo Chief Magistrae’s Court  later today.
