Sri Lankan troops return from Mali…

July 25, 2024

Troops from the Sri Lanka Army have returned from a successful peacekeeping mission in Mali under the United Nations (UN), earning over Rs. 14,500 million in foreign exchange for Sri Lanka. Despite their contributions, the mission saw the tragic loss of three soldiers and injuries to several others due to improvised explosive devices detonated by insurgents. The handover of the UN flag marked the conclusion of Sri Lanka’s peacekeeping operations in Mali.
