Pillayan to also back Ranil at upcoming presidential poll

Leader of the Thamil Makkal Viduthalaip Puligal (TMVP) State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias ‘Pillayan’ has stated that both he and his party will support President Ranil Wickremesinghe during the upcoming Presidential Election.

President Wickremesinghe has held a discussion with Pillayan and his party members this evening (22) at their party’s headquarters in the Batticaloa area.

During the meeting, the former LTTE paramilitary leader turned politician has assured that he and his party will support the incumbent Head of the State at the upcoming Presidential Election.

Meanwhile on Wednesday (19), the leader of the Tamil United Freedom Front (TUFF), former MP Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan alias ‘Karuna Amman’, had also confirmed that he and his party would support President Wickremesinghe at the presidential poll. 

The former LTTE commander turned politician revealed this while speaking to reporters while attending the opening of United National Party (UNP) office in Panadura on Wednesday.
