41-year-old man shot dead in Ambalangoda

A 41-year-old person has been shot dead near his residence at Kande Mawatha, Ambalangoda.

Police said that the victim was shot in the head in front of his own house this evening (16). 

No information regarding the suspect or suspects have been uncovered as of yet while police investigations and ongoing. 

Meanwhile, it is reported that the victim is former cricket Dhammika Niroshan, who had represented the Under-19 Sri Lanka Cricket Team in 2002. 

During that period, he was also the captain of the Under-19 cricket team of a leading school in the country.
