Presidential Election 2024: Ex-Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe places deposit

Bonds have been placed on behalf of former Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe today (12), to contest in the 2024 Presidential Election as an independent candidate.

Aloka Ranasinghe, a relative of the ex-minister, has paced the cash deposit on behalf of Ranasinghe.

On Sunday (11), Roshan Ranasinghe announced his presidential candidacy while addressing a function held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute.

The Presidential Election is scheduled to be held on September 21 and Nominations will be accepted on August 15, 2024, as per a gazette extraordinary issued by the Election Commission of Sri Lanka.
