Several spells of showers expected in parts of the island

The Department of Meteorology states that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (15).
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Eastern and Uva and provinces and in Matale, Polonnaruwa and Mullaittivu districts during the evening or night, it added.
Thus, general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers, according to the Met. Department.
