The officers of the Sri Lanka Customs Narcotics Control Unit at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) have seized 2.14 kilograms of cocaine estimated to be worth around Rs. 75 million at the BIA air cargo storage unit.

The cocaine had been concealed within an electrical device inside a parcel sent via air cargo from Bogotá in Colombia to an address in Ganemulla.

Two individuals from the Maligawatte area, aged 23 and 24, as well as a cargo clearing agent, have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

The estimated street value of the cocaine haul is around Rs. 75 million.

The seized cocaine and arrested suspects are to be handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) for further investigation.
