Bus carrying NPP supporters attacked in Monaragala

A bus returning from an election rally of the National People’s Power (NPP) held in Monaragala this morning (13) has reportedly been attacked by a group of unidentified individuals.

The attack had targeted a group of supporters who were returning from a public meeting held at the Monaragala Pradeshiya Sabha stadium, with the participation of the NPP presidential candidate, Anura Kumara Dissanayake. 

Four persons who were injured in the attack have been admitted to the Buttala Divisional Hospital for treatment. 

Police investigations are currently underway to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the attack.
