40kg of heroin worth over Rs. 1Bn recovered in Sevanagala

A stock of 40 kilograms of heroin estimated to be worth around Rs. 1,000 million has been recovered during a raid carried out by Police Special Task Force (STF) in the Sevanagala area.

The raid was conducted based on a tip-off from Sri Lanka Army intelligence, the police said.

Police are conducting further investigations regarding the stock of drugs.
