Galle District preferential vote results released

The preferential vote results of the Galle District in the 2024 General Election have been released.

NPP’s Nalin Hewage has polled the highest number of preferential votes in the Galle District. 

Former MP Gayantha Karunathilake has received the highest preferential votes from the SJB and secures its only seat while SLPP’s single seat for the district was secured by Chanaka Sampath.

National People’s Power (NPP)

1. Nalin Hewage - 274,707

2. Rathna Gamage - 113,719

3. Hasara Liyanage - 82,058

4. Nishantha Samaraweera - 76,677

5. Thilanka Rukmal - 74,143

6. Nishantha Perera - 71,549

7. T.K. Jayasundara - 58,761

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB)

1. Gayantha Karunathilake - 36,093

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP)

1. Chanaka Sampath - 8,447
