The preferential vote results of the Puttalam District in the 2024 General Election have been released.

NPP’s Chandana Abayarathna has polled the highest number of preferential votes in the Puttalam District. 

Hector Appuhami and Janath Chithral Fernando have obtained the highest number of preferential votes for the SJB to secure two parliamentary seats in the district. 

National People’s Power (NPP) 

1. Chandana Abayarathna - 113,334
2. Ajith Gihan - 58,183
3. Gayan Janaka - 51,233
4. Hiruni Wijesinghe - 44,057
5. Anton Jayakody - 43,907
6. Mohamed Faisal - 42,939

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) 

1. Hector Appuhami - 25,755 
2. Janath Chithral Fernando - 18,916
