Journalist Bhakti Dharmapriya Mendis passes away

Veteran journalist Bhakti Dharmapriya Mendis, who had been receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the National Hospital in Colombo after sustaining serious injuries in a road accident, has passed away. 

He was 47 years old at the time of his death.

Mendis began his journalism career in 2000 as a founding editorial board member of the Lakbima newspaper. He later contributed to Dinamina and Rivira newspapers.

His remains will be lie in state at his residence in Boossa, Galle, from tomorrow (04) afternoon. 

The final rites will take place on April 06 at 5:00 p.m. at the Dadalla Public Cemetery.
