Liquor smuggling racket from Sri Lanka to India busted

Indian Police have uncovered an illegal liquor smuggling racket operating from Sri Lanka to India, after they had received a number of complaints in regard, Indian media reported.


Meanwhile, two individuals have been arrested in the Thirusulam area in India while illegally transporting liquor bottles from Sri Lanka.


The quantity of liquor they had been transporting is reported to be worth over 50,000 Indian rupees.


However, Indian media further reports that the Indian Police together with the Indian Coast Guard have commenced a special search operation due to such liquor smuggling rackets from the island nation to India.
