Fawsul Niyas appointed acting Mayor of Galle

Mohamed Husain Fawsul Niyas has been appointed as the Acting Mayor of Galle Municipal Council after Methsiri Silva was removed from his position as Mayor today (July 05).
The decision to remove him from the post was taken by the Southern Provincial Chief Minister in view of the corruption and fraud charges against Mr. Silva.
Deputy Mayor Fawsul Niyas was appointed as Acting Mayor of the Galle Municipal Council thereafter, confirms Shan Vijayalal De Silva Chief Minister of the Southern Provincial Council.
