Preference votes of Ratnapura Municipal Council was released a short while ago with Kapila Wickramanath topping the list with 5,272 votes followed by UPFA candidates Nilantha Roshan and C. Jayasinghe with 4,706 and 4159 preference votes respectively.

Lakshman Munasinghe received the highest preference votes for the UNP with 4,406 votes while Saranga Vitanage and Sameera Weerakoon received 2,954 and 1,445 votes respectively.
