United National Party (UNP) Councilors today (Feb. 27) morning attended Kandy Municipal Council sessions adorning black armbands in protest of the rise in fuel prices.

The government is alone responsible for the resolution being brought against Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council, Neranjan Wijeyeratne leader of the opposition in the Kandy Municipal Council said.

Addressing members of the council today he stressed that although they are against external interference in the country, they do not approve of the government’s malpractices.
