Two persons were arrested for violating election laws from the Kinniya and Horowpathana areas for offences including fraudulent voting and for illegal propaganda respectively.
The police are conducting further inquiries into the incidents.
Meanwhile, polling closed at 4pm today (Sep 8) while no major election violence was reported.
