
Former UNP parliamentarian and minister P.C. Imbulana has passed away today.
The former UNP stalwart began his political career as Village Committee chairman of Ruwanwella and later represented the Ruwanwella electorate in Parliament from July 1960 onwards.
He served as Deputy Minister of Agriculture under Prime Minister Dudley Senanayake, as Deputy Minister of Local Government, Housing and Construction under President J. R. Jayewardene and Labour Minister under President R. Premadasa.
Imbulana was the first Governor of the Uva Province (1988 -1990) and then Governor of the Central Province until his retirement from politics in 1994.
