VIDEO: All students to get marks for leaked O/L questions

The CID inquiry has confirmed that questions in the science paper of the 2012 G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination has been leaked before the exam was held, Education Minister Bandula Gunawadena said.

The investigation has revealed that the tuition teacher in question had obtained the 19 questions through the Examinations Department, he said during a media briefing in Colombo today.

He further stated that students who sat for the O/L Science multiple choice question paper will be given marks for the 19 questions that were leaked to avoid any injustice.

Meanwhile a special examination will be held on February 09 and 10, 2013 for students who were unable to sit for the O/L Mathematics and Aesthetic Studies papers due to adverse weather conditions, the Minister added.

Three suspects including an employee in the printing section of the Examinations Department were arrested today over the leaking of the Science exam paper.

The CID on Friday (21) had arrested the tuition teacher and an accomplice suspected of leaking the science paper and they were remanded till December 28 after being produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate.

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) had launched investigations after receiving a complaint on December 15 that several questions included in the O/L science “Part – I” paper were contained in a model paper provided at a tuition class before exams had commenced.
