Businessman allegedly abducted in white van

A businessman living on Malaba street in Gampola was allegedly abducted by a group of people who arrived in a white van according to a complaint made to the Civil Monitoring Commission.

 

The victim was 56 year old Govinda Sami Arunachalam Prabhakaran, a father of three children. The abduction allegedly took place last night (December 28) at around 9.40pm, the Convener of the Civil Monitoring Commission, Mano Ganesan stated.

 

He said that the victim who is runs a business in Kandy had closed his shop and was returning home when he was abducted by an unknown gang.

 

The Gampola police stated that a complaint had been filed by the victim’s wife.
