Pujitha Jayasundara new Senior DIG in charge of North

Pujitha Jayasundara is to be appointed as the new Senior Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in charge of the Northern Province.

The Police Department stated that Senior DIG Pujitha Jayasundara will fill the seat left vacant due to the retirement of Senior DIG (Northern Province) Gamini Silva.

Gamini Silva is slated to retire from the police service on Monday (Dec 2).

Pujitha Jayasundara is currently serving as the Senior DIG in charge of the Eastern Province and will officially assume duties in the North on a future date.

Meanwhile the Polcie Department has decided to appoint Senior DIG in charge of Uva Province Nandana Munasinghe as Senior DIG for Eastern Province.

Furthermore the Senior DIG in charge of North Western Province Lalith Jayasinghe has been appointed as the acting Senior DIG for Uva Province until a Senior DIG is officially appointed for that province.
