UPFA wins highest votes in Hambantota District

The UPFA won the highest number of votes in the Hambantota District with 174,687 votes at the Provincial Council election while the UNP managed to secure 79,829 votes.

 

The UPFA won the highest number of votes in all the polling divisions in the Hambantota District.

 

Therefore, the UPFA won 8 seats while the UNP won 4 and the JVP won 2 seats.


The JVP received 39,345 votes while the Democratic Party received 9547 votes.

 

The postal voting results were released first with the UPFA gaining 7,527 votes and the UNP receiving 1,761 votes.

 

The JVP received 1,440 postal votes while the Democratic Party received 943 postal votes.

 

The results of the Beliatta Polling Division of the Hambantota District were released with the UPFA securing 32,393 votes and the UNP receiving 9,657.

 

The JVP received 5,521 votes while the Democratic Party received 2,173 votes.

 

In the Mulkirigala Polling Division the UPFA secured 61% of the total valid votes with 37,464 votes while the UNP received 15,607 votes.

 

The JVP and the Democratic Party received 6,334 and 1,825 votes respectively.

 

In the Tissamaharama division, the UPFA received 54,731 votes while the UNP got 35,294 votes and the JVP and the Democratic Party received 13,665 and 1,551 respectively.

 

 

The Tangalle results were 42,572 votes for the UPFA, 17,510 for the UNP, 12,385 for the JVP and 3055 for the DP.
