President Mahinda Rajapaksa has congratulated M.G. Danushka, the winner of ‘Derana Dream Star - Season 5’ which concluded with a spectacular Grand Finale held at the Sugathadasa Stadium on Saturday.
Danushka stated that the President had congratulated him over the phone yesterday and praised his Singing prowess at the musical reality show, which he had keenly followed.
He stated that President Rajapaksa’s hometown of Weeraketiya-Medamulana is close to his own home town and the President had expressed joy over him being able to take the ‘Derana Dream Star’ trophy to that area for the first time ever.
Danushka stated that a large number of people including MP Namal Rajapaksa, Uva Chief Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa, Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi and Deputy Minister Premalal Jayasekara assisted him in his path to victory.
He also promised to protect the trust place on him by all those who supported him.
