A.S.P. Liyanage appointed as Sri Lankan Ambassador to Qatar

Businessman and Sri Lanka Labour Party leader Mr. A. S. P. Liyanage has been appointed as the new Sri Lankan Ambassador to Qatar.

Mr. Liyanage received his letter of appointment from President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat on Friday (March 10), the President’s Media Division said.

Liyanage, who is the chairman and managing director of the private real estate company - ASP Group, was the former Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Nigeria.

He contested the presidential elections in 2010 and 2015 for the Sri Lanka Labour Party.
