Sabaragamuwa PC passes 20th Amendment

The 20th Amendment to the Constitution, to hold elections for all Provincial Councils in the same day, has been passed in the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council with a majority of 21 votes. 

Ada Derana reporter said that 29 councilors voted in favour of the draft bill while eight voted against it. Another six members were absent during the vote.

The 20th amendment to hold PC polls on the same day have so far been passed in the North Central, Eastern and Western provincial councils. 

The Uva Provincial Council had defeated the draft bill while the Norther, Wayamba and Southern provincial council are yet to reach final decisions.
