Govt. should intervene to protect temples in North-East – Mahinda

The government should intervene to protect Buddhist temples in Northern and Eastern provinces, says former President Mahinda Government.

On a visit to Kandy, the former President worshipped the Temple of the Tooth Relic, last night (15). He responded to media queries following his visit.

Rajapaksa also commented on the recent conflict on placing a Buddha statue within the premises of Jaffna University.
