President calls all-party conference tomorrow

President Maithripala Sirisena has called a conference with the participation of all political parties represented in the Parliament, with the aim of bringing an end to the political crisis in Sri Lanka.

The all-party conference will be held under the patronage of President Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo at 5.00 p.m. tomorrow (18), according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).

The media release further said that the President has called the meeting with the intention of ending the political unrest and conflict that had prevailed within the Parliament in the past couple of days and for an agreement to be reached between all political parties to respectably maintain the affairs of the Parliament.

The PMD statement said that the leaders of all political parties represented in Parliament have been invited to participate in the conference while Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has also been invited for the meet.
