27-year-old arrested while transporting heroin

A person has been arrested in Kamburapola area of Kuliyapitiya police division along with 10kg of heroin last night (27).

The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB), acting on a tip-off received by them, had arrested the suspect, who had been transporting 1kg of heroin on a motorcycle.

Further interrogations into the suspect had led to the seizure of 9kg of heroin hidden at his residence.

The total heroin haul is estimated to be worth Rs 120 million.

The arrestee has been identified as a 27-year-old youth residing in Ambagasgedara, Nagollagoda.
