Kandakadu QC converted into hospital to treat Covid-19 cases from rehab centre

The Kandakadu Quarantine Centre (QC) has been converted into a hospital to treat the Covid-19 patients identified from the nearby Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre, says the Army Commander, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.

He stated that the close contacts of the Covid-19 patients identified from the rehabilitation center have already been directed to quarantine c enters and to self-quarantine.

 Meanwhile the Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe, speaking to Ada Derana, said that PCR tests will be carried out today as well on the inmates at the rehabilitation center.

The family members of the female counselor from the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre who had tested positive for the virus yesterday, have been placed under self-quarantine while they will all be subjected to PCR tests. 

Meanwhile another 08 counselors of the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre who are on holiday have also been called back.
