Two including Excise officer arrested with synthetic drug ‘Mandy’

Two persons who had been in possession of 653g of ‘Mandy’, an artificial chemical drug, have been arrested by the Police Special Task Force (STF).

The arrestees include a regulator attached to the Excise Department branch in Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte.

A statement issued by the Excise Department this morning (29) revealed that the officer in question is a new recruit who recently completed the probationary period. He has since been interdicted.

The narcotic substance haul seized from the suspects is valued at over Rs. 10 million, the STF said.
