Cabinet of Ministers have granted approval for a proposal to introduce a new methodology to allocate lands to war heroes.

The previous method of allocating lands to war heroes was revised at the Cabinet meeting held on 18.07.2016 and a new methodology was introduced instead, the government said.

It has been reported that some war heroes who were given lands under the previous policy have been inconvenienced due to this, it said.

Therefore, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal made by the Minister of Lands to introduce a new methodology to eliminate these inequalities that have occurred in providing relief to the war heroes.
