Russian youth drowns in the sea off Hikkaduwa

A Russian youth has died after drowning in the sea area off Hikkaduwa on Wednesday evening (June 07).
He was rescued by the coastal lifeguards, however, was pronounced dead upon admission to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.
The remains of the 29-year-old are currently placed at the hospital mortuary, and Hikkaduwa police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
