A Chinese citizen has been reported missing, and presumed drowned, while surfing at Payagala Beach.

Shang Xiaolong, a 54-year-old tourist staying at a hotel in the Payagala (North) area, was reportedly caught in a tidal wave while surfing, leading to his disappearance.

Despite efforts by local residents to locate the missing Chinese national, it has been reported that he remains unaccounted for thus far.
