60,000 applications received for NIE admissions – Edu. Minister

Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha says that 60,000 applications were received for new admissions to National Colleges of Education (NIEs).

He mentioned that the relevant admission activities would be initiated next week.

In response to a question raised by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa in Parliament, the Minister said that 4,160 individuals are set to graduate from the NIEs in the near future.

Furthermore, Premajayantha mentioned that measures are underway for the recruitment of 23,005 individuals to the teaching service.
