Circular on admission of children to Grade 01 to be amended

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved proposal to amend the current circular related to the admission of children to the Grade 01 classes of government schools.

Cabinet Spokesman, Minister Bandula Gunawardena stated that the admission of children to the first grade of schools is done transparently and in a manner that minimizes irregularities, in order to ensure equal access to education consistent with the circular issued by the Ministry of Education.

Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers granted approval to the proposal presented by Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha to amend the current circular instructions based on the experience gained in the past years.

The Cabinet of Ministers also approved the admission of children to the Grade 01 classes for the year 2025 and following years according to the revised circular.
