‘Club Wasantha’ killing: New footage emerges of fatal shooting

New CCTV footage of the fatal shooting which killed businessman Surendra Wasantha Perera alias ‘Club Wasantha’ and another person in Athurugiriya has emerged on Thursday (11), providing further insights into the shocking incident.
 
The video, obtained from CCTV cameras inside the shop, shows the moment of the shooting, when the gunmen enter the tattoo studio and open fire targeting ‘Club Wasantha’ before fleeing the scene.

The shooting occurred during the opening ceremony of a tattoo and piercing studio near the Clock Tower in Athurugiriya on Monday (08), killing two persons including businessman Surendra Wasantha Perera, known as “Club Wasantha” and causing critical injuries to four others.

Hospital sources reported that popular singer K. Sujeewa, who was seriously injured in her leg during the incident, underwent surgery at the Colombo National Hospital and is now in a stable condition.
