When asked about the party’s candidate for the election, Rajapaksa said, “Now we have the program to win the election. The good news is that we will win. When the candidate is named, you will know how powerful he is.”

Regarding the possibility of putting forward a common candidate, he said that the party has always presented a common candidate.

On the matter of supporting the President, he clarified, “Not yet, but if the president is ready to go with us, we will fully support him.”
