President’s decision on parliamentary election expenses

The Commissioner General of Elections, Saman Sri Ratnayake, says that the President has signed the relevant document for the release of Rs. 11 billion which is expected to be expense to hold the 2024 General Election.

He revealed this to the media following a discussion on preliminary preparations for the upcoming General Election.

Two meetings regarding the preliminary matters concerning the parliamentary elections were conducted at the Election Commission Office in Rajagiriya yesterday (29).

The first discussion was held with the participation of District Secretaries and Deputy District Secretaries, and the Commissioner General of Elections, Saman Sri Ratnayake also attended the discussion.

Meanwhile, another meeting between District Returning Officers, Assistant Commissioners, and Deputy Election Commissioners was held last afternoon to further discuss election preparations.
