All liquor outlets across Sri Lanka will remain closed on April 13 and 14, the Excise Department has announced.

However, the department stated that establishments authorized to serve foreign nationals will be permitted to operate during this period.

The closure has been imposed in line with the upcoming Sinhala and Hindu New Year season, the Department said.

Accordingly, Deputy Excise Commissioner Roshan Perera has stated that all liquor outlets across the island must remain closed on April 13 and 14.

The notice further states that complaints related to excise and tobacco offences during this period can be reported via the department’s operations room hotline, 1913.
