Several BIA-bound aircraft diverted to Mattala amid heavy rainfall

Several aircraft scheduled to land at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake were diverted to the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport due to adverse weather conditions prevailing in the area.

Around six incoming flights were redirected to Mattala amid heavy rainfall and reduced visibility at BIA, an official said.
