According to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), tourism earnings exceeded USD 2,200 million during the first nine months of the year, from January to September.

A report issued by the Central Bank reveals that total tourism revenue during this period amounted to USD 2,245.2 million.

However, this represents a decline compared with the corresponding period in 2025, when Sri Lanka recorded tourism earnings of USD 2,472.9 million.

Meanwhile, tourism earnings in September alone reached USD 185.6 million, marking a slight increase compared with the USD 182.9 million recorded in September of the previous year.

A total of 1,693,679 tourists visited Sri Lanka between January and September this year, contributing to the country’s tourism earnings during the period.
