An alumna of Mahamaya Girls’ College in Kandy, Ekanayake excelled in both academics and sports during her school years. She currently works as a nurse and entrepreneur while pursuing a Master of Science (MSc) degree.

Chandimal Jayasinghe serves as the National Director of the Mrs. Sri Lanka World pageant.

Sri Lanka has previously achieved two notable victories at the international Mrs. World pageant, bringing recognition to the country on the global stage.

Rosy Senanayake – 1984

Rosy Senanayake made history by winning the inaugural Mrs. World title in 1984. Representing Sri Lanka at the competition held in Queensland, Australia, she became the first Sri Lankan woman to win the international crown. She subsequently established herself as a prominent political figure and served as a government minister.

Caroline Jurie – 2020

In 2020, Caroline Jurie brought the Mrs. World crown back to Sri Lanka, securing another significant victory for the country. Her achievement at the pageant held in Las Vegas, United States, marked another proud moment for Sri Lanka on the international stage.

With two previous Mrs. World title victories, Sri Lanka has established a notable record in the competition’s history. Expectations are now high for Nishadi Ekanayake as she prepares to represent the country at the upcoming international pageant, with hopes of securing another prestigious title for Sri Lanka.
