Court rejects bail applications of ‘Harak Kata’ and two others
The Colombo High Court today (29) rejected bail applications filed on behalf of three defendants, including notorious underworld figure Nandun Chinthaka Wickramaratne, alias “Harak Kata,” who is being held at the Welisara Prison.
The court also rejected requests made by attorneys representing two other defendants seeking their release.
The order was delivered by Colombo High Court Judge Buddhika C. Ragala, Ada Derana reporter said.
In pronouncing the order, the judge stated that the bail applications could not be considered at this stage as the Attorney General had filed an appeal before the Court of Appeal against an order previously issued by the High Court.
